Transitioning to Middle School Starting in the sixth grade is tough, but here are some helpful hints to having a great year:
1. Write in your agendas/planners. Each student will receive a planner, and it is important to use it so that you do not forget what homework you need to do. -you can also tape a copy of your schedule and a school map into your planner so you always know where they are. 2. Ask questions. If you do not know where something is, or what to do please ask a teacher or a staff member. We are here to help you! 3. Arrive to school on time. It is important to start the day off right with being on time for school. There are many important pieces of information given at the beginning of the day, and being on time for school will make sure you do not miss anything! 4. Complete your homework on time. If you work on your assignments every night, you will not have a big pile of work the night before it is all due. 5. Eat a healthy breakfast before coming to school. Eating breakfast helps keep you focused on the work in your classes. If you can't eat breakfast at home, you can eat breakfast when you get to school in the cafeteria. 6. Get a good night's sleep. Try to get at least 8 hours of sleep every night so that you are awake and ready for the school day.
